Chinese fans capture Taeyeon’s cute belly fat

SNSD’s leader Taeyeon got her cute belly fat captured by her Chinese fans during SNSD’s Shanghai concert on the 17th.

In the photo above, you see Taeyeon at the Shanghai concert (left) and her at the Seoul concert (right). It’s hard to tell the difference because she’s wearing the same thing but if you look closely, you can see that her hair is different and so is her belly.

Now, SNSD fans shouldn’t attack me for this matter because all I’m saying is that, the belly “fat” is visible in the photo but it’s not a bad thing.

It makes her seem more human and it’s quite endearing.

The funny thing is that her belly in the Seoul concert is completely flat. She was considered by her fans at that time to have an ant waist. I guess she just worked out really hard for the Seoul concert and didn’t have the chance to this time around.

Netizens said,
“I thought only Korean fans carried around zoom lenses but Chinese fans are just as harsh.”
“SNSD members need to watch out.”
“It’s far from what my belly fat.”
“I think it came out because she was concentrating on her singing.”
“She’s still an angel.”

When it’s Taeyeon, everything is okay but if it’s a celebrity the netizens don’t like, they attack her! It’s a harsh world. Nonetheless, I agree with the statement that says her belly fat is nothing compared to mine. It really is.

Eyelid surgery pictures of girl idols regaining interest

Just like you and I, idols have flaws of their own–they are people too. However, plastic surgery can sure fix that!

Recently, a collection of pictures of single-lidded girl idols resurfaced on an internet bulletin board. Although these pictures have been revealed individually before, it is stirring up quite a commotion among netizens as the picture groups together some of Korea’s top girl idols.

This collection displays SNSD’s Yuri, Kara’s Goo Hara, Wonder Girls‘ Yeeun, as well as others (which included Secret’s Sunhwa, After School’s Uee, and actress Nam Gyu Ri in the original bulletin).

Netizens commented, “When you put them together, it’s really the jackpot!”, “Although it’s besides the point, I can’t help but laugh,” and “Even though they said they only had double eyelid surgery, it looks like they did a little more.”

Nevertheless, it’s what’s on the inside that counts! Right?

After School’s Kahi and Rainbow’s Jaekyung get Twitter accounts!

It looks like we have two more celebrities to add to our growing list of legitimate celebrity Twitter list!

Earlier today, After School’s Kahi and Rainbow’s Jaekyung both created their very own Twitter accounts to keep her fans updated. And coincidentally, both are group leaders!

Jaekyung’s first tweet read, “I’m at a boyz2men & 4men concert right now!^^ It’s intermission now but my heart is still pumping!!!!”
>

Not convinced that this is her real twitter?

I can understand why, what with all these fake twitter accounts floating around. However, Jae Kyung has also confirmed her twitter account on her Cyworld so we can safely assume that it is her. In addition, Shindong of Super Junior and SohnPD, MBC’s radio producer, has also welcomed her into the Twitterverse.

Shindong wrote, “Jae Kyung!! It’s Shindong oppa~~ Welcome to the Twitter world!! Work hard on your activities and fighting!!” while SohnPD said, “If you need anything at anytime, just ask me. It’s going to be fun. Aja!!^^”

As for Kahi, there’s no better way to verify its legitimacy by uploading a never-before-seen picture. In one of her many tweets since creating the account, “I’m here to do Music Core~Today is not the live broadcasting, but the recording .. I hope the world will find peace and music will overflow…!! peace!!! ★”

So start adding Kahi and Jaekyung to your follow list now!

MC Mong, the caricaturist tweets his artworks

The leading social network around the globe, Twitter has been gaining momentum in Korea for the past several months with a wave of celebrities joining the fun.

Newly added to the list, MC Mong has recently been tweeting his heart out with amazingly well-drawn caricatures of stars he’s close to, including Kang Ho Dong, Kim C, and Park Kyung Lim! Not only he hand-drew each of these artworks, but all of them were done on an iPhone application! The monkey got mad skills…

“A piece I drew after downloading an iPhone program. Does it look like me?????”

“Mong’s second masterpiece. This seriously looks like like him. Here’s a pop quiz. Who looks more handsome: me or Kim C?”

“UFace program’s third piece, Lee Seung Ki“

“Challenged for Kang Ho Dong. This is my retirement piece, feeling pressured T T”

“My last piece I drew before UFace. Title: Suffering ( Park Kyung Lim High School version) Her college entrance test day. Kyung Lim, I am sorry.”

“I got a phone call from a person named Park Kyung Lim. She hung up after saying ‘I will destroy you’. So I am posting her real face now.”

The netizens who’ve come across these stunning artworks commented, “Good emphasis on the facial features,” “MC Mong is better looking,” “No, Kim C is better looking,” etc.

Are idols working too much?

150 years ago, the average American worker worked over 3000 hours annually. Today that number has dropped to around 1777 hours annually. South Korea is known for it’s hard workers as South Korea has the longest working hours amongst the high-income OECD economies at just under 2400 hours annually. It seems idols in Korea fit this trend as they also work many hours annually.

“Are idols working all year long?“

This has been popping into the heads of many fans lately and it seems that there’s enough evidence on the k-pop scene to support this thought.

From the early 1990’s to around 2002, it was rare to see idols work so much. When an idol group or singer ended their live promotions, it was difficult to see the artists until their next comeback. That is now obviously not the case with the proliferation of the internet and increase of technology. In addition, members from idol groups continue to stay in the media long after their promotions have ended.

For example, Big Bang has been busy promoting like crazy in Japan and yet T.O.P found the time to star in the spy action drama IRIS. Now the group is in production for their comeback later this year and the fierce rapper is still acting as he will star in the film 71-Into the Fire.

After closing their promotions, most idol groups make their comebacks within a month or two but The Brown Eyed Girls are one of the special cases as they’ve stayed low key since their last single Sign. Even so, both Ga-In and Narsha are keeping busy with reality programs We Got Married and Invincible Youth, respectively. Not to mention that both girls are busy in production for their solo debuts!

2AM is currently in the midst of live promotions but ssanti leader Jo Kwon has been appearing on the show We Got Married opposite of Ga-In as a fictional married couple. Seulong has also just begun his acting career through the new drama Personal Taste.

2PM is also busy with Taecyeon appearing on Family Outing as a regular and also starring on the new hit drama Cinderella’s Sister. Wooyoung, Nichkhun and Chansung are also busy in the media. They also have a comeback coming soon as well.

BEAST also had their fair share of hard working members as Doojoon was in Kenya with the Danbi team and Gi Kwang had starred in the hit sitcom High Kick Through The Roof.

Of course these are only a few examples of idols in the media.

Years ago, most idol groups had only 3 to 5 members. Now there’s a growing trend where many have 7 or more members (ie. Super Junior, SNSD, U-KISS, After School etc.). Fans speculate that because there are so many members in a group, the companies compensate for the “impersonal feel” by having them appear on various programs. To get to know these idols better, all year long the idols appear on variety and reality programs and expand their careers from music into television and movie acting. But even through the craze of it all our favorite idols seem to keep on smiling and laughing, thankful for the opportunities that come their way.

There’s some with the mentality of “Hard Work Never Killed Anybody” and there’s others with “Hard Work Never Killed Anybody… but why risk it?” What do you guys think, should the idols take it down a notch or continue to do as they do as long as they’re happy?

With the influx of girl groups debuting last year and coming back even stronger this year, the competition isn’t just about how good a song is but how cute the singers are. Korean netizens recently voted on a poll for the female idols with the best killer smiles. Who do you think made that list?

In 10th place came one of Davichi’s vocalists Kang MinKyung. 9th place is T-ara’s God 0f Study actress Jiyeon! The leader of the Wonder Girls, Sunye, took 8th place while JoKwon’s wife and Brown Eyed Girls‘ member GaIn was able to grab 7th.

KARA’s Nicole snatched 6th place and 2NE1’s fierce leader CL came in 5th. F(x)’s adorable Sulli was able to make it to 4th place.

With approximately 1,300 votes (15% of total votes), KARA’s Han SeungYeon came in third place. Close in front of her was SNSD’s Sunny with 18% of the votes.

SNSD’s Tiffany came out on the top with a whopping 34.7% of votes! With her gorgeous looks and such a cute smile, who wouldn’t fall for her?

SM Entertainment announces lawsuit against TVXQ trio

Today on the 13th of April, SM Entertainment made an official announcement regarding their stance on the TVXQ JaeChunSu situation they have been tangled with for the past several months. The tables have now turned – SM Entertainment has revealed that they have filed a lawsuit against the TVXQ trio.

Here is a direct translation of the excerpt from the posted announcement.

Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

After receiving a confirmation that the TVXQ trio will be filing an injunction, we SM Entertainment had continuously put our best efforts to keep the group in existence; thus we have delayed this lawsuit on our objection toward the trio.

However, the three are not giving us answers to our request of continuation on such activities, and instead declared to stop all of their activities in Japan. Therefore, we are here to notify that we have filed in a lawsuit on the 12th against the trio, to state our objection toward their provisional disposition of the contract terms and also to verify the contract’s remaining validity.

During a phone call with Newsen on the 13th, Lim Sang Hyuk, the official attorney for JaeChunSu’s side, revealed, “We’ve learned about the lawsuit through the internet, but we haven’t gone through the details yet. We will respond to their action accordingly.”

Until this day, SME has been rather subtle on their take on the lawsuit by Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun. Just recently, the five-member group halted their Japanese activities altogether after the release of their Japanese single Toki o Tomete. Since then, many media source have declared that TVXQ is technically over, as they’ve seemingly split for good.

Of course, the real fate of the trio (and TVXQ in general) still isn’t certain. But with all these negative answers emerging at the moment, things aren’t looking positive.

Little Wang Suk Hyun opens his own online shopping mall

6-year old actor, Wang Suk Hyun has already conquered our hearts through his shows. And he is now a little boss by opening his own shopping mall called Joashop!

What was I doing when I was 6 years old!?

Unlike many other celebrities’ online shopping malls, this one is unique because it specializes in children’s clothing. On April 7th, when the online shopping mall first opened, the server was down for a few minutes because of the immense number of visitors on the brand new site. I hear some ka-ching in this boy’s pockets!

Lee Chan Joo and Jang Ye Seul were chosen from a very competitive pool of over 200 child models as the female models for this online shopping mall.

The little entrepreneur will be returning with a movie called Hyun’s Song.

A.N.Jell gets their very own official website

Despite You’re Beautiful ending its run last December and A.N.Jell being just a fictitious band (although many wished that it was for real), fans can’t seem to get enough of the drama and its leading cast members like Jang Geun Suk, Park Shin Hye, Jung Yonghwa and Lee Hong Ki.

And to satisfy the fans, an official website for A.N.Jell was revealed in the past week before being officially unveiled to the public on April 12th.

The website actually crashed when it opened for beta testing on the 6th as 30,000 fans got wind of this and started hitting the website at the same time. It was however repaired in time to handle the heavy traffic before its official opening yesterday.

There are sorts of information about A.N.Jell like their profile, album, schedules, etc information and it is a definite visit for any hardcore fan of the drama.

Sooyoung has a crush on Daesung?

There’s been so much information coming out about the new SBS pilot program HahaMong Show and I’m sure every little tidbit is making you get really excited.

To increase more hype, It has been revealed that SNSD’s Sooyoung wants to get closer to Big Bang’s Daesung.

Sooyoung said, “I think it’s very brave for a female idol to admit that Big Bang is their ideal type. All SNSD members wants to get closer with Daesung. When I saw him get close to Taeyeon on Family Outing, I got really jealous.”

I’m sure Daesung started to blush as he heard this. Daesung replied in kind, “I got a good vibe from her in the dressing room.”

Why does every female idol love Daesung?

KARA’s Jiyoung, T-ara’s Eunjung, the Brown Eyed Girls and now all of SNSD (except Tiffany probably)? Daesung should take advantage of this chance.

Korea’s Top Female Idols with Eye-Smiles

Korea’s Top Female Idols with Eye-Smiles

Yesterday, we reported the male baby-faced beasts of Korea, and today Nate is taking a look at girls who have perfect eye smiles. If you haven’t heard of this term before, it’s the crescent shape that an eye curves into when a person smiles. In Korea, guys tend to love girls who smile this way. So which girls have the best eye smiles?

1. SNSD’s Tiffany
When SNSD first debuted, Tiffany was immediately loved by many as she became known as ‘that girl with the eye smile’ on variety programs. Her smile was so well known that when she was asked to show off a talent on a show, she would just smile and the guys would melt.

2. KARA’s Seungyeon

Even though Seungyeon recently confessed that she believed her non-smiling face is not so great, her smiling face more than makes up for it! Though she’s one of the oldest members of KARA, she looks pretty young with to her cuteness.

3. f(x)’s Sulli

Every time Sulli moves, people go crazy. She is one of those rare girls that guys and girls love. Her pale white skin goes perfectly with her plump lips when she smiles. She’s nothing more than lovable and she never forgets to smile wherever she goes. From what I’ve seen of her, she seems like she smiles 24/7. So what makes eye smiles so lovable? Well, Koreans attribute the look to “aegyo fat,” which is the area of skin underneath the eyes. One plastic surgeon said that this “aegyo fat” makes people look cuter and gives the illusion that they have bigger eyes. Who do you think has the best eye smile?

Who is Apple Girl?

Two UCC videos released by a girl in the space of a week and whom goes by the name of “Apple Girl” has become all the rage on the internet. So who is this “Apple Girl”?

Just some background information first. This “Apple Girl” uploaded her first video on March 15th, jamming to her four iPhones setup (with separate applications) and singing to Beyonce’s Irreplaceable. A week later, she uploaded her second video, but this time singing Lady Gaga’s Pokerface.

Nothing unusual or special you might say.

But from her ease at operating her four iPhones setup, pretty face and impressive vocals, she became a really popular person with netizens. And it certainly looks like she was aiming to reach out to the world as she made her greetings at the start in Japanese, Korean and English, before using the latter throughout the videos.

You could also attribute her popularity to her usage of popular social networking tools like Youtube and Twitter to communicate with the masses.

On the day that she uploaded her Lady Gaga video, she became all the rage with netizens and even made the headlines of many news portals for that day. But no one knew her real identity since she only went by the nickname of “Apple Girl” and some even felt that Apple had hired her to do noise marketing for the iPhone.

So netizens started work to unmask her identity and managed to discover that she was a volunteer singer called Kim Yeo Hee who simply loves the iPhone and singing. If you find her somewhat familiar, you are not far off. She had appeared as the female partner for F.T. Island’s Lee Hong Ki during his MNET Scandal episode last June. She also participated in the Superstar K talent competition but did not get far.

Choi Jin Young’s mother fainted during his cremation

On March 29th, the sad news of yet another celebrity suicide spread across Korea like wildfire as Choi Jin Young passed away at the age of 39.

On the 31st, Choi Jin Young’s mother arrived at a crematory in Seongnam for her son’s cremation. However, during the emotionally difficult process, she fainted. If you don’t remember, her daughter, Choi Jin Shil also committed suicide two years ago so you can only imagine how emotionally distraught the mother must be. Choi Jin Young’s mother was moved to a car by her relatives to get some rest.

In addition, it was noted that when Choi Jin Young’s mother arrived, she looked rather pale and started crying right away. As soon as the cremation started she screamed her son’s name and said, “Jin Young-ah, what am I supposed to do now that you’ve left me behind, take me with you.” Choi Jin Shil’s children did not attend the cremation.

We wish the best for the family. Keep them in your prayers.
