Son Dambi’s Queen MV hit with plagiarism allegations

Singer Son Dambi released her music video for title song Queen back on the 7th where we got to see a fresh new video featuring the diva that was enjoyed by most.

Well, it turns out her music video director decided to take an easy way out according to some netizens.

On the 8th, netizens noticed the similarity in both Son Dambi’s Queen music video and Syfy’s TV miniseries, Alice which aired in America last year.

The photos above show the scenes that were clearly plagiarized with Queen to the right and Alice to the left.

Pledis Entertainment agency officials stated, “We did not think this would start a plagiarism controversy. We will speak with the music video director who will then release an official statement.”

It seems that the plagiarism accusations haven’t been slowing down lately . It’s just too bad that Son Dambi was the target and she was probably unaware.

IU accidentally drops Music Bank trophy and kisses Taeyang!

Talented cutie singer IU recently dropped her Music Bank trophy by mistake after claiming her first K-Chart victory back on July 2nd with Seulong.

She posted up the photos back on the 7th to her minihompy and stated the following for the first picture, “Oh, I dropped it ㅠ. ㅠ.” She continued to comment her second picture with, “Yes, yes! I’ll paste it together keke.”

Netizens commented on her cuteness overload with, “The first time you get a Music Bank trophy and it broke, sad to hear,” “It’s not fair this happened to you,” and “That’s sad but you’re so cute!”

It’s quite a common mistake for the top part of the trophy to fall off due to its’ awkward design. If you recall, the same thing happened to 2NE1’s Sandara Park while she was performing her encore and accidentally kicked the trophy.

Poor girl. Well, maybe not so poor. She did get to kiss Taeyang while recording Heroes so that’s surely a sign of good luck (and future minihompy closure).

After School’s Jooyeon, f(x)’s Victoria and Sori confirmed for Invincible Youth

After much speculation, it was finally confirmed that After School’s Jooyeon, f(x)’s Victoria and Sori will become the three new members of G7 on Invincible Youth.

This annoucement was confirmed by PD Kim Ho Sang on May 31st with the trio replacing the outgoing Hyuna of 4minute, Yuri and Sunny of SNSD who filmed their last episode on May 19th.

PD Kim said, “Although most of us know Jooyeon for her looks, she will now show her straight talking personality through the show. As for Victoria, we know all about her flexibility but she will show more of her other charms in the show.”

Finally, “Sori is a bit of an unknown in variety and it was a surprise for us to cast a non-girl group member. Sori has an awesome dancing background and has majored in ballet since she was young. She has also released single albums and we look forward to seeing her variety qualities on the show.”

Their first recording will take place this week and will be shown in mid-June.

MBC labor union suspends strike

After 39 days since the MBC labor union went on strike to get their MBC president Kim Jae Chul to step down from his position, the former has temporarily called a halt to their strike and have voted to return to work from the 14th.

The labor union had went on strike in early April as they felt that their president, Kim Jae Chul who has only been appointed in February of this year were interfering with the neutrality of the station and was a puppet of the Lee Myung Bak administration.

The strike left many of the station’s programs in limbo as they couldn’t air new episodes because of the lack of manpower. The livelihoods of many workers were also severely affected by this.

There was some respite though after it was revealed through a vote by members of the labor union on the 13th to temporarily halt the strike and return to work from the 14th.

But with the 14th being a Friday, it’s unlikely that the weekend variety programs like We Got Married, Infinity Challenge and Sunday Sunday Night will be able to air new episodes because of the timing. Special re-runs are being planned again for them this weekend but things should return to normal from next week.

Let’s hope that this saga gets resolved soon in a amicable manner because this is like just keeping a lid on things bubbling underneath.
