After School’s Jooyeon, f(x)’s Victoria and Sori confirmed for Invincible Youth

After much speculation, it was finally confirmed that After School’s Jooyeon, f(x)’s Victoria and Sori will become the three new members of G7 on Invincible Youth.

This annoucement was confirmed by PD Kim Ho Sang on May 31st with the trio replacing the outgoing Hyuna of 4minute, Yuri and Sunny of SNSD who filmed their last episode on May 19th.

PD Kim said, “Although most of us know Jooyeon for her looks, she will now show her straight talking personality through the show. As for Victoria, we know all about her flexibility but she will show more of her other charms in the show.”

Finally, “Sori is a bit of an unknown in variety and it was a surprise for us to cast a non-girl group member. Sori has an awesome dancing background and has majored in ballet since she was young. She has also released single albums and we look forward to seeing her variety qualities on the show.”

Their first recording will take place this week and will be shown in mid-June.

MBC labor union suspends strike

After 39 days since the MBC labor union went on strike to get their MBC president Kim Jae Chul to step down from his position, the former has temporarily called a halt to their strike and have voted to return to work from the 14th.

The labor union had went on strike in early April as they felt that their president, Kim Jae Chul who has only been appointed in February of this year were interfering with the neutrality of the station and was a puppet of the Lee Myung Bak administration.

The strike left many of the station’s programs in limbo as they couldn’t air new episodes because of the lack of manpower. The livelihoods of many workers were also severely affected by this.

There was some respite though after it was revealed through a vote by members of the labor union on the 13th to temporarily halt the strike and return to work from the 14th.

But with the 14th being a Friday, it’s unlikely that the weekend variety programs like We Got Married, Infinity Challenge and Sunday Sunday Night will be able to air new episodes because of the timing. Special re-runs are being planned again for them this weekend but things should return to normal from next week.

Let’s hope that this saga gets resolved soon in a amicable manner because this is like just keeping a lid on things bubbling underneath.
